Cave Paintings & Pottery
Cave Paintings
Art History
Like I've said before, I believe everyone can paint.
Our ancestors knew how to paint before we, as a species, knew how to write.
As children, even today, we all know how to paint before we learn how to write.
One of my favorite quotes:
When my daughter was about seven years old, she asked me one day what I did at work. I told her I worked at the college - that my job was to teach people how to draw.
She stared at me, incredulous, and said, "You mean they forget?"
Howard Ikemoto - Art-Quotes
This post is to honor the first artists we know of and, as you can see, some of them were excellent!
Here´s my version of how we discovered painting, stone carving, interior design & pottery:
A very restless child was playing with mud and making mud-cakes and throwing them into the fire when mom wasn´t looking.
Most likely, she was a little tomboy who would much rather be outside playing with the boys rather than sitting in the cave doing such boring things as cooking, cleaning and playing with straw dolls.
When mom came back to stir the fire and start dinner, she found the mud-cakes and, after giving the child a good scolding, she removed them.
To discipline her, she made her go sit in the corner.
Well, we all know how boring that can be !!!
So, the child picked up a piece of charcoal that was laying nearby and started drawing on the wall.
When mom saw this, she was not very pleased !!!
She took away the coal and told her that now she would have to sit even longer until she learned to behave.
Now the child was REALLY upset ! So, she took a sharp stone that was laying close by and started angrily carving lines and circles and whatever she could imagine on the wall just to get even with mom.
Mom, was now getting really upset as well. There was no way to tame this little monster.
On the verge of a nervous breakdown, mom gave the child a bone and ordered her to go outside and play and hopefully get eaten by a dinosaur.
When mom calmed down, she realized that the clay had hardened and that it certainly would make a nice addition to the usual bamboo she had been using for containers.
She also saw that the drawing and the carving the child had done, actually made the cave look better.
Lo and behold...we had just discovered painting, carving, interior design and clay pottery!!
The oldest clay pottery known to man is from the Japanese early Jomon period.

What did the first artists use for paint?
Berries, plants, animal blood, charcoal and minerals.

Art History
I realized that when people would look at my painting of Van Gogh and Gauguin, they wouldn't notice that he was holding his ear.
Gees, the most important part of the whole composition went unnoticed !
So, I added some blood.
Can you see it now?

When Maureen Seewald and I visited the Museo Casa de Santo Domingo in Antigua, Guatemala, we came upon this painting. Unfortunately, the camera we had at the time was not the best and since I didn´t know I would be using it later on a blog, I did not take as much care taking it as I should have. No flash, no tripod and low light...so excuse the quality but the content is what matters:

When I was a child, the nuns told us the globe between Jesus and God the Father was the earth. Now, as an adult,t I can see that it certainly has no resemblance to our planet but it certainly looks like a Sputnik.
The photo taken by me and posted above of the painting at Museo St. Domingo is only a detail of a larger painting that depicts Mary, Joseph and the baby, Jesus. The man on the cloud holding the sputnik is God the Father (?). While I was taking the photo, Maureen noticed that under the virgin´s robe something had been written and painted over. Upon closer observation I noticed that she was right. I took a photo of that as well but I think the aliens did something to my DVD because I cannot open it. I did ask Maureen to send me a copy since she also has copies of all the pictures we took during this trip. Hopefully they
won´t mess up her DVD as well :)). As soon as she finds it and sends it, I will post it here. I would love to know what was originally written on that robe that someone later decided to cover up.
NOTE: Maureen sent the missing pictures. To see them, go to:

UFOS IN ANCIENT ART
I came upon the following websites years ago.
As you well know, one cannot believe everything one reads, sees or hears.
Being a skeptic about everything, I verified that the paintings had not been touched up. I suggest you also do a separate search of each painting by author and museum.
You be the judge and reach your own conclusions...

MAYAN AIRCRAFT
In 1974, when I started the trip around South America with my two dogs, Fiera and Corky, I visited the Museo del Oro in Bogota, Colombia, (The Gold Museum). Like I said before, I am a museum junkie.
They had some of these little gold figures of what looked like airplanes but of course, at the time, the archaeologists claimed they were depictions of insects. Watch this video and you be the judge.

I am sure that there were some earthlings who were cons and purposely deformed their babies´ skulls to fool others into believing they too were related to the gods. But I am also sure they could not have achieved the volume and size found in the other skulls not matter how hard they tried.
Would this also explain why the Pharaohs wore the hats that they did?

DID THE ASIANS COME TO AMERICA BEFORE COLUMBUS?
These sculptures were found in the Mayan, Aztec and Olmec Pyramids.

But if you still have any doubts that the Asians were here before the Spaniards, take a look at this:

Not only were the Asians in Mexico before Columbus but they were in Peru before the Incas. Check out this link:

DID THE MAYAS DISAPPEAR OR ARE THEY STILL AMONG US?
Archaeologists today claim that the Mayas disappeared. The funny thing is that I frequently see them walking around in Mexico.
I have seen some that look exactly like the Mayas in the murals in the Pyramids. So, when I see one, I approach them and say: "You must be a ghost!" They look at the crazy stranger (me) with surprise . And then I add, "Because, according to what archaeologists are saying nowadays, you people disappeared."
Then they give me a nod and a knowing smile.
I wish I had some photos of them to post here but I never ask them if I can take a photo. I don´t wish to offend.
But I have some of people we met in our travels.

If you want to see Mayas walking among us, travel to:
Palenque, Mexico
Metzabock, Chiapas
Lake Atitlán, Guatemala
Keep your eyes open as you walk the streets and you might be fortunate enough to see real Mayas, like the ones in the murals. And then you too can go up to them and say: "You must be a ghost!!"
Who are the Lacandons?
